Pixel Perfect Picks #36 - React in Spatial, One Sec, Helldivers 2

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

In the React Native Show podcast, I heard last week that React Native will now be available for Vision OS. I have already used React Native as a quick prototyping tool in numerous scenarios and am familiar with the framework. Therefore, I am excited to see how the ideas from the React world will now also work in Spatial Computing!

Read Something

In a newspaper article, I came across the app One Sec and was immediately fascinated by it. The concept: Before opening a social media app, you take a few seconds to breathe and receive information about how many times the app has been opened in the last 24 hours. I don't use social media excessively, but it still often distracts me. The app could work better than just reducing screen time, and then be easily bypassed with 2 clicks.

Saw Something

I have been looking for a game to relax and enjoy after work for some time now. With friends, without a complex story, just for pure enjoyment. It seems like all my wishes have been fulfilled with Helldivers 2. And after a weekend of playing, I can say: Yes, this is exactly what I was looking for!

Until next time. Keep creating awesome stuff ✌️
