Pixel Perfect Picks #55 - Mixtapes, Dot, Config

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

About 10 years ago, I stumbled upon a mixtape on Bandcamp that I listened to over and over again. Last week, I found myself wondering what the artist behind it, CJ Trillo, is up to these days, and I discovered this little tape on Spotify. It's the perfect vibe for me!

Read Something

I have now repeatedly heard that everyday assistants are supposed to be one of the biggest use cases for AI. I was particularly intrigued by Dot, an everyday assistant developed with former Apple team members. I have been trying it out for about a week now and I am pleasantly surprised. However, there is also a strange feeling that bothers me. Still, it's interesting to delve into it for once.

Saw Something

Of course, the absolute highlight of the week (besides Germany's victory against Denmark ⚽) was the Config. The opening keynote alone was fantastic, but there were simply too many good sessions in general! I was particularly fascinated by the Browser Company, of course. It's just on a completely different level. What are your favorite innovations from the Config?

🎬 PS: I changed my vacation plans last minute, so I might stream on Tuesday and Thursday this week. But we're keeping things very spontaneously! Twitch Channel

Until next time. Keep creating awesome stuff ✌️
