Pixel Perfect Picks #71 - Notebooks, Feedback, Dragonball

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

In the latest episode of the Rich Roll Podcast, a conversation with Yuval Noah Harari, an AI tool was mentioned casually that I took a closer look at and found quite fascinating. It's called Notebook.lm, a specific type of AI that works with documents you upload and specializes in that area. My past self, who was still studying at university, would have longed for something like this and would have saved a lot of time with it.

Read Something

When you read a blog post and immediately order the book that goes with it, you know that the post has struck a chord. That was the case for me when I read a post by Scott Berkun titled 'How to Get Really Good Feedback.' He hit the nail on the head, and his insights are incredibly close to real-world practice. I also ordered the corresponding book, 'Why Design Is Hard,' and I’ve already flown through the first few pages.

Saw Something

I don't know why, but somehow a massive amount of Dragon Ball content has flooded my timeline. Maybe it's because I was a huge fan of the series as a child, or perhaps it's because there's a huge hype around the new PS5 game. In any case, I watched the first episodes of the new series Dragon Ball Daima this weekend, and I melted with nostalgia. More of this, please!
