Pixel Perfect Picks #73 - Figma's new Eyedropper, Web Summit, Good Sounds

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

You know that it will be a good week when you find another Fred Again mix on YouTube. Man, I loooove these intimate, small sessions with just good vibes. Absolute bangers in this mix and definitely on repeat on these rainy, moody mornings.

Read Something

I never thought I would experience this, but the Eyedropper Tool has received a small yet elegant redesign. If you ask me, it was about time. I think it's a fantastic addition to UI3, and it shows how much thought the team has put into it. Now we can finally sample styles and variables and easily add them to existing designs.

Saw Something

Last week I attended the Web Summit. To be honest, I was quite disappointed with the conference because it was a constant back and forth, and you couldn't take your schedule seriously. At least the team responded and is now gradually providing summaries of the talks. Of course, they are generated by AI, but it's something.

About Marvin Messenzehl

I love working in the realm between design and code. Some things that make me excited are CSS, Interaction design, Javascript, and making interfaces feel fun and human.

Currently, I'm designing & building interfaces for the podcast app of RTL +.  Besides that, I'm teaching UX and UI design at Memorisely.
