Pixel Perfect Picks #76 - Frank Ocean, Design is Hard, Dia

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

Is Frank Ocean releasing new music? I listened to the Channel Orange album like crazy and have an incredible number of memories associated with it. Recently, my Instagram feed whispered to me that there is now an artist named 'The Most Wanted,' who apparently is Frank Ocean. After the first beat, I was convinced of it myself.

Read Something

Last week, I read one of the best design books of the year (for me). Scott Berkun writes in 'Why Design is Hard' about what every designer has in mind but very few can express. For me, the book comes at the perfect time and provides many thought-provoking insights at the end of the year. It's a very refreshing take on the role of designers and how to achieve peace of mind.

Saw Something

I spend nearly 90% of my working time in the Arc Browser. I have rarely loved a tool so much, and I have rarely been such a fan of a team behind a product that I love so dearly (very complicated sentence). I just watched the new hiring video from The Browser Company, and I find it both exciting to see what will happen with the new browser, Dia, and at the same time, I am extremely sad that this likely means the final end of Arc. Well, at least the name of the company is now fitting.

P.S.: Next week, I will write the last edition of Pixel Perfect Picks for this year, and we will do a small but nice year in review. I'm looking forward to it. Thank you for being a part of it!

P.P.S.: Maybe I should introduce a little P.S. section for those who really read all the way to the end. What do you think?
