Pixel Perfect Picks #80 - Popular lofi, Zen, Todo Apps

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

Last week, my YouTube algorithm recommended me a real gem again: the YouTube channel jeez. It's mainly a LoFi music channel, but with the interesting twist that it features LoFi versions of very well-known artists. My favorite: the 2-hour LoFi Mac Miller mix!

Read Something

I am currently very focused on meditation again, this time with the overarching theme of Zen. I was mainly inspired by the Tim Ferriss podcast and Henry Shukman's appearance. However, I must say that The Way is currently the meditation app that makes it easiest for me to establish a daily routine.

Saw Something

I have almost banished all to-do list apps from my life. More precisely, I only use them to collect tasks, but not to complete them anymore. However, an exciting idea comes from the Daily app, which is currently in open beta. Simply create a list for the day, check off the tasks, and that's it.

About Marvin Messenzehl

I love working in the realm between design and code. Some things that make me excited are CSS, Interaction design, Javascript, and making interfaces feel fun and human.

Currently, I'm designing & building interfaces for the podcast app of RTL +.  Besides that, I'm teaching UX and UI design at Memorisely.
