Pixel Perfect Picks #82 - Yussef Dayes, Figma Aspect Ratio, Apple Invites

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

I think I have found one of the most amazing YouTube videos of all time. At the same time, I have now fully entered the Yussef Dayes rabbit hole. This set, or rather, this film has fascinated me incredibly. The incredible culture of Japan combined with very relaxing music. It couldn't be better. Absolute recommendation.

Read Something

I've been waiting for this Figma feature for years. I've lost count of how many hours I've spent using workarounds and pure frustration trying to maintain a fixed aspect ratio for my components. Now there is finally a native method to preserve the aspect ratio of frames. Thank you! 🤩

Saw Something

When Apple releases a new app, I obviously have to mention it here. With the Invites app, you can create very personalized and visually appealing invitations for events. I would have preferred an improvement to the calendar, but perhaps that will be the next step.

Keep Creating Awesome Stuff ✌️
