Pixel Perfect Picks #85 - a11y in Figma, Mental Models, Sam Altman's notes

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

For all my design friends who are currently working on major accessibility projects, I was recommended a great Figma plugin last week that finally provides a promising solution for annotations in the accessibility field. It’s already a game changer for our team!

Read Something

I am an incredibly big fan of the Farnam Street Blog (fs.blog) and especially of Shane's Mental Models books. I recently found a post on Substack that illustrates the ideas behind them and presents them in a very easy-to-understand way. I think the channel is a goldmine in itself!

Saw Something

I believe that if there is a person in today's world who has to manage a lot of knowledge and ideas, it is Sam Altman. In a YouTube video, Bill Rice analyzes Sam's note-taking methods. And I must honestly admit: I was surprised by how minimalist Sam's approach is. I took some inspiration from it and am now trying to integrate this type of 'disposable notes' into my life. It feels very liberating in a way.
