Pixel Perfect Picks #92 - Tokyo, HEX, Perfect Days

Hey there 👋

Welcome to this installment of Pixel Perfect Picks. Here I'm sharing something that I heard, read, and saw. You can subscribe to this newsletter here. I'm additionally publishing a more extended essay about software development, design, and freelancing every month.

Heard Something

During this long Easter weekend, I was overwhelmed by wanderlust and spent several hours looking at walking tours from Tokyo and other parts of Japan. In the process, I also came across this amazing livestream of Tokyo Bay, which is accompanied by relaxing lo-fi beats.

Read Something

During the Easter holidays, I also picked up a new book: Hex by Thomas Olde Heuvelt. I was in the mood for a little thriller with a touch of the paranormal. I'm not quite finished yet, and some parts do hit a cliché, but I must say that the pages are flying by. If you have any more recommendations in this direction, please let me know!

Saw Something

To completely satisfy my longing for Tokyo and Japan, I watched the film "Perfect Days." I have rarely seen such a simple, calm, and truly beautiful film that tells so much on a deeper level.
