We’ve had a fun Halloween. On Friday Ella made a point to text Rachel to make sure they trick-or-treated together. We all ended up going as a group. Max joined us too (Betty is currently visiting Adam, Claire, and James in Kentucky).
As we made our way around the neighborhood, Doug and I discussed needing to get HOA Officers. We ran into Laura Edmonds and she was actually enthusiastic about being our President. Then I talked to Jerry in the back cul-de-sac. He volunteered his wife. All-in-all Doug and I were very pleased with the response we got. I’d been afraid I was going to have to send an HOA email after we moved. Doug gave me a fist bump he was so happy about it all.
After conducting my HOA business, I was able to catch up with our crew as we continued trick-or-treating at the top of the neighborhood.
In other news from today, for breakfast Lydia and I finished off the doughnuts from yesterday. At church, I checked her into her class. Then I was the lead teacher for the Pre-Teen class. We had low numbers on account of the retreat. For our morning, we went next door and joined the Kid’s Ministry Worship Time.
After first service, Beccy Pulte and I headed down to the preschool room where they served breakfast for the fifth Sunday volunteers. We chatted for a bit before I headed onto service.
The Middle School Ministry retreat got back just after second service let out. I met Max in the parking lot on my way to get Ella. Then Ella, Lydia, and I went to eat lunch at WhichWich. Next I dropped them off before I went back to church to pick up Beth and Paige.
Everyone had great retreats. Ella commented that they’d gotten to bed after midnight on both nights. Paige commented that she liked her retreat better than Kid Camp, their summer retreat.
Once we had everyone back home, I started thinking about dinner. I decided to whip up a pot of chili on the stove. To do so, I had to make a quick grocery run. Then I was able to get it cooking by 4pm.
Ella happened to forget her EpiPen on the retreat. Mrs. Patti had it with her. So I stepped out a little after five to run over to her house to pick it up. When I got back, Max was pulling into our driveway, and that gets us back to beginning of this journal entry.
