It’s Sunday evening. Our house is quieting down after a fun weekend. Here are ten things I’m thankful for in this moment:
- Our oldest daughter was baptized today.
- I was honored that she picked me to do it.
- Today’s crystal clear skies and the promise of green breaking out across the dreary late-winter countryside.
- The way a face mask keeps my cheeks warm as I walk through the parking lot after a late evening grocery run.
- A Sunday afternoon lunch with extra helpings of good conversation.
- The books we’ve read aloud as a family this past year: The Green Ember Series and we're in the middle of The Wingfeather Saga.
- Impromptu Starbucks runs with my daughters, taking one at a time on separate days so they’ll know they’re special.
- Those in our family who have recovered from COVID, and the blessing that none of my immediate family has had it.
- I’ve been working from home for the past twenty years.
- Peace enough to sit down and reflect in this moment.
There, that was fun. Have I inspired you to do the same? Until next time...
