A Dead Body

There was a dead body in a car. It was already pale and swollen, with dark marks surrounding wide, open blue eyes. The vehicle was parked at the end of my street, in a designated visitors' parking spot. It was a nice and sunny morning, just after 9:00 AM, and I was supposed to already be in the office. But there I was, standing beside the car with the dead body inside.
At first, I was staring in disbelief. Suddenly, my heart rate increased, and my face blushed. I realized I would start panicking soon. I turned around quickly towards my car.
"What should I do now? Did anybody see me? Could I leave as if nothing had happened?" - my thoughts swarmed. I realized I needed to do something. With my hands all shaky and sweaty, I pulled out my phone from my back pocket and pressed 1-1-2, taking a deep breath. I waited. I sighed. I looked around and stopped breathing. Finally, I hung up the call.
Frightened, I got in my car, pressed the gas pedal, and hurriedly drove away. My heart was still beating like a little drummer inside my chest. I knew that the body would eventually be discovered, but I did not want to have anything to do with it. The sun was shining. I felt free.
