Dear Spotify,
It's sad to see our paths diverging; it has been an unforgettable ride with you.
I'm a long-time premium user, since 2009 if I don't recall wrong – yes, that's before you were officially available in Finland.
For me, Spotify has always been about the music – having my collection available anytime, everywhere, and being able to listen to new music right after it is released. Your algorithms have become better and better at suggesting new music to listen to throughout the years, and it has become a big part of my listening habits.
So what went wrong then?
You started to push podcasts heavily. I found it annoying – I never asked you to provide podcasts, never. You remember I came to you for the music and only music. You also broke your promise to supply content without ads by starting to provide podcasts. It's unacceptable.
The last nail in your coffin was your decision to let the misinformation and alternative truths spread via your platform. You used to be a cool company; this is not cool. What on earth happened to you?
I understand; it is business, money talks. So, I also let the money talk and give my money to another streaming provider that can better serve my needs.
