Operation Cannoli Newsletter #41

Ciao a Tutti,

I have some fun, great news to share… along with an annoying piece of news.

We got Grandma Florence’s birth certificate in record time, and New York’s Department of Health did not object to any of our requested corrections. We got the four copies we ordered back in just over three weeks. This is fast! I hear that it normally takes 3-4 months for a regular request, but we “skipped the queue” because we needed the corrections. This is all really good so far.

Here’s the annoying thing: they missed one of our changes. They were supposed to change both Arduino and Filomena’s ages from 30 to 29, but they only changed Filomena’s age. Also unfortunately, I didn’t notice this error until I had already sent one of the copies away to New York to get its apostille… D’oh!

We need to wait for that copy to come back in the next couple of weeks, and then I will need to ship all four copies we got back to New York in order to get the correction error corrected. Ugh! I am hopeful that they will be willing to expedite this process since they were the ones who made the error in the first place, but we shall see. Even if we have to wait another three weeks, that shouldn’t be too bad.

I am also trying to get in touch with the people who do apostilles in New York to see if they will just send back that brith certificate without doing the apostille. I have not yet heard back, but that could shave some waiting time off that part of this.

I wanted to keep you all in the loop on this. Overall, this is good, but there is this small wrinkle. I attached the mostly-corrected copy of Grandma Florence's birth certificate to this message, in case you wanted to check it out.

A reminder to keep working away on those apostilles and POAs, if you haven't already. Thank you for your help with that step!

I hope that you are all well this week.

A Presto,

Noah
