I’m excited to share that our Italian court case has been filed!

We should get our case number in a few weeks. (It strikes me as very Italian that this isn’t an automated process. Viva Italia!) You’ll hear from me as soon as we have a case number (within reason because, you know, there’s going to be a baby around here soon).

Once we have our case number, we should be able to figure out our who our judge is. I’ll frantically do research to see how that judge has ruled on cases like ours in the past and how far out they are scheduling cases. I want to set expectations that different judges have been setting dates as soon as February or March of 2023 through October or November of 2024. It varies a lot by judge.

When we have the case number, we can also be checking the Italian Court’s website for updates on our case. We will probably know our court date in about 2-3 months.

I felt like sending my last message would kick something into gear and get our lawyer to file our case, and I guess I was right! I should have known that good things tend to happen on March 4. Happy birthday, Chloe! Buon compleanno, Chloe!
