Buongiorno,
Great news! We have a court date!
Judge Adele Pezone will make a judgement in our case on February 20, 2023. (That’s 20/2/2023, if your using the Italian date format.)
This is actually WAY sooner than I thought we might get. I had intially estimated October of 2023 for a hearing date on the Citizenship Timeline. I’ll work on updating that today; the changes I have made so far today are early morning, freshly optimistic ones.
Usually, it takes about six to eight months to get everything from the court registered with the comune and the consulate. So this means passports in mid- to late 2023, which is also way sooner than had previously forecast.
Looming over all of this is the ever-present possibility that we could lose and need to appeal. I’m not sure how much time that would add to our process. With all the changes in who hears these cases, it may not be easy for anyone to estimate. Let’s hope that Judge Pezone has had a change of heart about cases like ours due to some of her decisions being overruled on appeal.
A Febraio…
Con Affetto,
Noah
