Quick update!

Our hearing appears to have happened, but no word on a verdict. It does sound like the Ministry of the Interior (the other party in our suit; essentially the specific part of the government we are “suing”) did show up.

According to another member of the Facebook group, they do this to ask for us to pay for their fees (not sure what that looks like in detail) and to present their opinion about what a case like ours should look like. It’s unlikely that they are opposing our case. Just to be clear: this is not based on any specific communication from our attorney. It’s based on status updates about our case in the government’s Giustizia Civile app and a glossary that another user on the Facebook group made to make the status updates clearer.

I am hopeful that we will get a verdict early tomorrow morning (US time) and that I can send an update about that tomorrow! But it’s possible that we won’t hear about the verdict until later this week or even next week.
