I'm excited that Johana has decided to join our case. Since we are switching lawyers and effectively starting over with our case, there was an opening to have her join in. I extended the offer and checked in with all of you to make sure everyone was in, and I was delighted that we were all of the same mindset that it is great that she is able to join in. The more the merrier! Johana and I will be working together to gather the documents that she needs for this case, but that should only take a few weeks, and we have plenty to be working on in the meantime.

On the flipside, Ooma has decided that she does not need Italian citizenship, and she has chosen to step back from participating in this process. This decision is personal for each of us, and I respect her decision. We love you Ooma!

I let the new lawyer's office know that we are ready to move ahead, and he sent over a few pieces of paperwork for me to sign and return to him. When that is done, it will be time for us to send our first payment to him. It will be €2000, which we will split among the 10 of us, making it €200 per person. That is about $214 today. As in the past, I'll ask you to send me the money and I will send it on to the lawyer on our behalf.

The next payment will be €4000 and it will be due 4 months after we send this first payment, which will be around November 1. I will send a reminder close to that date.

Once we have made the first payment, it will be time for us to sign new Powers of Attorney. Fortunately, this new lawyer's office will make our translations for us and they are included in our fees. The practical payoff here is that we can sign an English Power of Attorney, which means that both we and the notary will be able to understand it, and then we can send it over, knowing that the translation price is already included. I am very happy about this.

I have checked in the past with our previous lawyer about collecting our documents from him to use for a future case, and he has confirmed that we would be able to have them back. I hope that he is willing to send them straight to the new lawyer's office rather than back to me, but we will see. I will keep you in the loop about this. I am waiting to tell him that we are seeking new legal representation until we have actually signed and paid the new lawyer.

As you all now know, the baby is due on the 4th, so she or he could arrive at any moment! If that happens before the end of next week, that could throw a bit of this timing off, but that would be a pretty sweet reason for a delay! In honesty, I think I can do many of the things I will need to do with a toddler or baby, but we will have to wait and see!

That's all for now! I will be in touch soon about payments and the Powers of Attorney.

Un abbraccio,

Noah
