Omar Wani

Did you hear about Monday?

She cut me with a thousand cuts
And I was not able to speak.

She cut those cords with the simplicity of melted cheese
I could see the past drip onto the floor.

There wasn't much to say by the end of it
I was all over - in a thousand bits.

When the harsh things are said with such ease
One thing is certain -

To her my being meant nothing.
I was milked, and it was time to go.

So be it,
The cuts are enough for me to remember -

That love once sworn, was a mere joke,
And that all it amounts to is how much you can give and keep giving and one day be dead.
