Visit to the Harry Potter Studios

Visiting the Harry Potter Studios in August with my kids was a magical experience, one we’ll all remember for years to come. The moment we stepped through the entrance, the excitement was palpable. We were greeted by the iconic Great Hall doors, which opened to reveal the actual set where so many memorable scenes were filmed. The scale and detail were astonishing, from the floating candles to the long house tables — it felt like we had walked straight into Hogwarts.

My kids were wide-eyed, taking in everything, from the costumes worn by Harry, Hermione, and Ron to the intricate props like the Marauder's Map and the golden snitch. We wandered through the Gryffindor common room, Dumbledore's office, and even got a peek at Hagrid’s Hut. They were especially fascinated by the life-sized animatronic creatures, like Buckbeak and the terrifying Aragog, all brought to life in ways you could hardly believe.

The highlight for me was walking down Diagon Alley. The cobbled street, lined with quirky shops like Ollivanders and Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, was just as vibrant as in the films. My kids loved the interactive elements, especially the chance to ride a broomstick against a green screen. Their faces lit up as they "flew" over Hogwarts, and we had such fun seeing the final footage.

Before leaving, we visited the massive model of Hogwarts Castle, which was just breathtaking in its detail. It was an awe-inspiring way to end the tour, reminding us of the sheer craftsmanship and passion that went into making the films.

We ended the day at the souvenir shop, of course, where my kids picked out their wands, as if they were real Hogwarts students. It was an unforgettable day of wonder and nostalgia, and I'm sure they'll be talking about it for years to come.
