The smart folks behind the spectacular camera app Halide have launched a new site called Lux. For a while now, they’ve been writing tremendous pieces on camera tech, taking photos, and processing them. I’m sure the recent news about their prior platform, Medium, had an impact on their decision to reboot, but they also arrived for even more perfection in the core competency of their niche: having full control over their images:
It’s unfortunate that so many platforms fail to support wide gamut images. Maybe they only see themselves as platforms for text? That would explain why, when we requested an export of all our articles, Medium only gave us an archive of our text and no images.
As always, the first article’s supplied photos are marvelous to look at, and I look forward to their new home on Lux — as well as reading about photography tech I barely comprehend.
