Adrigole

On Tuesday, I walked the first leg of the Beara way which is the 10 miles from Glengariff to Adrigole. The morning started out a bit cloudy but it wasn’t long before the sun came out. Temperatures in the mid 60s most of the day.

The first 5 miles were quite pleasant walking back into a valley between a mountain. The last 5 miles were a bit more challenging and involved climbing up a mountain and then down the other side.

Some photos from along the way.

It ends up that I’m walking every other day with a rest day in between. Wednesday was my rest day in Adrigole. When I woke up in the morning, I was reminded of the existence of muscles that I hadn’t felt in a long time, namely, the muscles used for climbing up and down hills. I spent most of the day reading a Lee Child thriller that was at the B&B where I was staying and then walked a couple miles down to the harbor.

A few photos from the B&B. I was impressed by the size of the calla lilies.
