Autumn Half Term Trip Day 5: Mojacar

IMG_2050.JPG

Can't believe a cat picture has made its way into my journal, but I couldn't resist this one, taken in the old town of Mojacar - no filter.

It poured with rain overnight, with thunder and lightning, but obligingly stopped at precisely 8.20am when we emerged, to give us a rapidly improving day with clear skies and warm winds. Gotta love "rainy days" (at least, most of the time) in Spain.

I nipped into town this morning to get some supplies, and walked the circumference of the place (didn't take long) - there are great views in all directions including down to the sea, which is really quite close.

Faye and I squeezed in the usual few hours' work, then after bacon and egg butties for lunch we all repeated my morning walk to town as a family, heading up to enjoy the views from the old town, and then stopping for a drink at the mirador that looks north to the mountains, across the strange, pyramid-type hills of the campo.

We had a chicken curry for dinner, again put together with a lovely sauce I'd made at home and brought with me. Our completely routine but fun and relaxing holiday day came to an end with Faye and I sat in the darkness reading, the little kitten purring on Faye's lap, and Skye safely locked in the van, out of reach...
