Portugal & Spain Tour Day 41: Hervas

Playing with the dog in the reservoir.

Faye reported some good trail running this morning just up the hill in Hervas, which I’m looking forward to discovering tomorrow.

So it was “back to work” today, and it felt good to get things moving again. I’m deliberately growing my beard super long as I know it irks Steve, so that was fun in our company video meeting. Both Faye and I worked a bit longer than we should have, but still stopped by mid afternoon.

We took everyone up to the reservoir for a swim, and it turned out that it really wasn’t cold at all. It was great to do some wild swimming, and the dog especially loved it, not least trying to drink all the water we threw at her face. She even did some swimming.

Water babies.

I cooked us some veg and tomato spaghetti with broccoli for our dinner, the kids went off for a quick swim and half an hour in the play park, and before we knew it it was dark and bedtime. Moving’ on tomorrow.

Can’t close this journal, though, without confirming that at the age of 51, just like the kids, I can still get my toe in my mouth! Don’t think I’ve tried that since I was a child. It took some serious stretching and about 10 minutes though, but I am genuinely proud I still have that flexibility. Have photo evidence but will spare everyone that…
