We implore the kids to be quiet when they go to bed, but this was pretty cute… I spotted them playing together with Maya’s “Slothy” at bedtime in the pop-up roof on my way back from the toilet this evening.

So we’re getting closer to home, heading today to our final campsite.

I did a repeat of yesterday’s run down the valley and back again this morning, then we did a couple of hours’ work each before hitting the road just after midday.

It was initially a high mountain road with great views, but before long we dropped down to rolling plains and hills. Lovely to discover new areas of Andalucía we simply didn’t know about.

I broke with tradition and went to Carrefour for our shopping - wish I hadn’t. Overpriced and hard to find what I wanted. I think I am a Lidl convert.

Lunch on the road again in the van, and then we arrived at the friendly, smart, Camping El Sur, just a mile or two outside Ronda. I immediately conducted my weekly Thursday Q&A session online, and then having moved not once but twice to find the perfect plot, we settled in.

It’s a spacious, terraced site with the “good” gravel-type pitches that we quite like, a nice pool, some games stuff for the kids, and really pretty grand toilets and showers.

This evening we decided to try the campsite restaurant which was pretty good, although trying to get the kids to eat their veg (especially Maya) does kind of ruin things sometimes. Still, we sat up pretty late around the table chatting, Maya telling us she’s desperate to watch “Stranger Things” and Dylan explaining who he watches on YouTube and exactly why. A fun night, and all to bed with full tummies…
