Portugal Tour Day 2, Seville to Fuseta

Early morning runs for Faye and me from the campsite through tree-lined bridleways and along farm tracks, sun rising across the misty fields. Kids miraculously cured of all last night's ailments this morning. Our usual camping breakfast of bread, cereals, fruit and nuts, then on the road to Portugal!

Crossed the impressive Guadiana International Bridge, got a credit card registered for the auto toll booths in Portugal (what would you do if you didn't have a credit card, we wondered?) and arrived shortly afterwards at Parque Campismo Fusela, our first stop in Portugal. Fuzela is a small fishing town at the mouth of a river, its beach protected from the Atlantic by a long island a little out to sea (which also has great beaches apparently, accessible via ferry boat).

In the afternoon we explored the river, the dog and kids paddling and inevitably falling in, the dog loving getting wet and attempting to rehydrate by drinking the salty river-mouth water.

Afterwards I wandered through the sleepy town to find a shop to buy supplies, before cooking a coconut dal and rice for our dinner. The gas bottle obligingly waited until I'd nearly finished before running out, leading to a quick switch to our emergency camping stove.

We have got a usually huge 28GB of internet on our Spanish SIM card when roaming, although as the kids appear to have burned through 8GB in about 8 hours today, am going to have to try and buy an unlimited local data card tomorrow, along with sourcing a gas bottle.

We'll also switch sites to somewhere greener and more relaxed. This site is crowded and really a sleepover for people having a beach holiday, which is somewhat lost on us with the dog being banned from the beach.

Early to bed for all, with Faye completely exhausted and eyeing her 18-mile run in the morning, and with of course the small but noticeable one hour time difference with Spain making everything naturally want to happen that bit earlier anyway.
