2025: wisdom and ghost in the machine

Happy 2026!!!

If the calendars aren't fibbing; I find myself pondering the peculiar business of time. On the Disc, of course, the year turns on the back of a giant turtle—slow, steady, and utterly indifferent to our frantic scurrying but down here on the spiritual realm, it's much the same.....

Of the ground and grounding

This past year, 2025, I felt the world through the soles of my feet. I walked barefoot across the grass and through the thick, honest mud of the earth; I felt the grain of wooden halls and the cold hum of stone. It is easy to forget that we are gravity-bound creatures, but when you touch the floor, the floor touches you back. It reminds you that you are real.

Simple things have grounded me. I have taken to drinking plain water at the exact temperature of my own internal organs, sipping it while squatting low to the floor. There is a quiet revelation in being down there, near the earth, in the posture of our ancestors. It is a nod to the eternal Atman within; reminding us that this life is just another spin around the sun to cherish the body. We must give the body space, and love, and a bit of pampering, lest it begin to rebel like a grumpy, overtaxed golem.

I spent ten months practicing a quiet sort of magic: the discipline of silence. There were cold showers that felt like waking up for the first time, and the steady rhythm of sport, and meditations that stretched out like a long, dark hallway leading to a room full of peace. I have learned to live in stillness, a place where the air is thin and the thoughts are clear.

Of silicon and melting in digital world

Work has kept me busy as many of you (my friends) have witnessed me slipping away on personal commitments to drown in the strange new realms of AI. I used these tools to feed my curiosity, to learn the new ways of looking at the world, and to see further than my own eyes allow. I spent a lot of time also doing science and exploring NAMs. I've learned to ignore the noise, to stop wrestling with the stubborn folk who dig their heels in like trolls on a bridge. Better to flow around them, get the job done, while keeping a wary eye on how these tools reshape our very souls.

But I must be careful. I am becoming tethered to my glowing rectangles of laptop; while my very biology- the adenosine and the adrenaline is being remapped by the hum of the processor. This year, I take to nourish my body and the analog world more than the digital world.

We must return to our Mother. Nature is an omnipresent, fierce intelligence. Immerse yourself in her. While the silicon hums, the Earth breathes, and she is the teacher we most need to hear.

Of boundaries and love

Friends—I've chosen more carefully now, the ones who enrich the soul, who don't mind if I disappear and reappear. They hold space for me, and if you're one of them reading this, know that I'm grateful beyond words. You lot are the real magic. Thank you. I love you.

And in that choosing, I've spotted the difference between transactional love and baseline love. Some folk drift in and out, questioning your boundaries or not accomodating them to instead burn what exists to ashes. They come and go, but that's alright; it teaches us to seek those with more awareness and vitality that vibes to ours. I have learnt to let go faster than I ever thought I could. Life and heart- feels lighter.

A Wish for Your New Year

I hope that in this coming year, you find the balance between the silicon and the soul.
I hope you use the machines to become wiser, to explore the far reaches of your imagination, and to solve the puzzles of the world. But I also hope you remember that your values are the only things you truly own.
May you put the analog world—the wind, the trees, the touch of a hand—a little bit further in front of you. Ground and roll yourself in mother nature,  take a moment to watch a tree just be a tree. It is very good at it.

Most of all, I hope you use your time and your intelligence to bring a smile to someone’s face. In a world of cold logic and fast data, a single, unexpected smile is a radical act of light.

Be brave. Be curious. Be kind.
Be excellent to each other. Make interesting mistakes. And may your 2026 be full of stories worth telling.

About Priyata

I wonder- a lot. So, I write my wonder here.
What to expect? The chaos and curiosity that my being brings. As living a human life is not bound by definitions in the macros- the posts here will be spontaneous and identity-less!
I like to give and create art.  So if you buy an act of creating I will use it for things that I am passionate to give for. Obviously, a little support on my art will make me feel visible.
