Creativity: from sketch to solution oriented showing up to life
Nurturing creativity- is an important aspect of life. Sometimes I do not see that drawing is a way I express creativity- and that is one of the many tools with which I exercise to express myself. Furthermore, it has given me the strength to see things that my scientific practice didnot let me see. I have learnt to observe and breakdown aspects of a complex problem which in my scientific approach is used bottom up.
Furthermore, I have come to the conclusion that relationships often serve as mirrors of our own deficiencies, not as arenas for creative flourishing. Thus, my creativity asserts that attachment-central to most relationships- interferes with freedom of my creative pursuit. Many times, I have been told- "I thought you are a "gastroplus" person." While in my eyes, creativity- does not refrain to the conformation of status or a sense of "software choice". Attempting to “measure” a relationship’s quality (e.g., through affection or shared goals) parallels the futility of quantifying creativity. Both are distorted by external standards.
My drawings have taught me true creativity in a relational context emerges only when you abandon the need to define or evaluate the connection, letting it exist without purpose or outcome.
In todays time- organizations and the society is prone- or rather infected to measure everything.
However, creativity is complex and very hard to measure. It can be really tough to find the dedication to invest in it because of how uncertain the outcome of creativity is. While tests like the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking exist, they only measure certain parts, not the full range, especially for genius-level creativity. What one person finds creative, another might not. It involves many aspects, like thinking processes and personal traits, making it hard to fit into a single test. In context of business, creativity creates space for flow and removes stagnation, facilitating growth and innovation in business, where it serves as a competitive tool for differentiation. In this regard, we often think a lot through job-titles but we do not think about getting fundamental skills that would translate to real world market checks.
Thus, for an organization/ science/product- you name it, to be successful is to create lots of ideas that fail. Thus, focusing on fostering the relationship between innovation- which is the byproduct of creativity. This dynamic creates a flywheel effect, harmonizing the scaling elements- which are the larger metric driven parts of an organization/ scientific solution/engineering/ and design- each with their own distinct identities and ambitions, into a unified engine of progress.
I wonder- a lot. So, I write my wonder here. What to expect? The chaos and curiosity that my being brings. As living a human life is not bound by definitions in the macros- the posts here will be spontaneous and identity-less! I like to give and create art. So if you buy an act of creating I will use it for things that I am passionate to give for. Obviously, a little support on my art will make me feel visible.
