In my pursuit of understanding the reality- I realized that though reality unfolds in dimensions far beyond science has explainability, yet within its vastness, we are at an acute time of utilization of tools that illuminate the path to truth.
In drug discovery, advancements in Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, PBPK/QSP, proteomics, pharmacogenomics, exposome analysis, and digital twins are not just technologies, together they come to explain the truth of philosophical timeless principles. Bear with me on these ideas:
In drug discovery, advancements in Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, PBPK/QSP, proteomics, pharmacogenomics, exposome analysis, and digital twins are not just technologies, together they come to explain the truth of philosophical timeless principles. Bear with me on these ideas:
The potency of relief
The feeling of relief is the most powerful emotion one can cultivate-frees the mind from fear and control.
In drug discovery, relief arises from predictive models that solve for uncertainty. PBPK/QSP integrates systems biology to predict biological responses, and giving insights on the uncertainty of the results. Cheminformatics/bioinformatics helps on a handle with reducing the burden of trial-and-error (Pharmacogenomics). These tools forge a path to relief; much like the psychological principles . All of this translates to the latest trust from humanity on New Approach Methodologies (NAMS).
Living from the end
All conflict is self conflict, the art of living from the end- instead of reaching the end is critical. A conversation with a friend yesterday went to the direction that after 30 years of life a human starts to think of their death and impermanence. Thus compassion or sincerity frequently emerge at ages above 30.
This consequence of beginning with the desired outcome- guides drug discovery through digital twins. These virtual models of patients or biological systems simulate therapeutic outcomes before synthesis, enabling researchers to optimize from the start (Digital Twins). By envisioning success and working backward, digital twins reduce the need for physical trials, aligning with the principle that the end is where we begin. This approach, supported by AI, accelerates innovation and embodies intentionality.
Size in effects- not in consciousness
Size exists only in the world of effects- not in consciousness. This one finally found it's nuts and bolts in a martial arts practice called I Liq Chuan. While learning the stance of fighting, this practice got me to consciously find center of mass and the lines through which it travels our physical state and thus maximize the effect of a defense or offense using the intuitiveness of energy transfer.
Proteomics and pharmacogenomics reveal this truth in biology, where minute changes- a single protein expression or genetic variant- determine a drug’s success. For instance, 7% of Caucasians with CYP2D6 variants poorly metabolize drugs like doxepin, increasing hospitalization costs if untreated (Pharmacogenomics). HLA-B*5701 testing prevents fatal reactions to abacavir, a standard since 1998. The exposome, encompassing all environmental exposures, adds complexity, but AI navigates this vast data to pinpoint impactful patterns (Pharmacogenomics). These areas are discovery of profound changes in small shifts.
Compounding relationships
Most people in this world have good intentions and are good people. But are they good for you- is another question.
In life science , not all data, models, or collaborators yield progress. Large cohorts like the UK Biobank, with nearly 500,000 participants, provide data to discern valuable patterns (Pharmacogenomics). AI and machine learning ensuring resources align with breakthroughs. Just as enduring relationships thrive on direct communication, scientific progress depends on choosing the right tools and partners.
The Rare DNA
Rare is the human, who aligns that what they desire is already theirs and approach life with alignment to what they seek, seeks them.
In drug discovery, this is the scientist whose passion meets all tools that are essentially important to discover the truth of biology. AI, PBPK, QSP, proteomics etc. enabling innovations. This mutual desire—human ambition and computational power-drives advancements that transform lives.
The pursuit of truth, a scientific equivalent to philosophy is - cultivating relief through predictive models, living from the end with digital twins, recognizing effects over size in proteomics and pharmacogenomics, discerning beneficial relationships through tailored therapies, and embracing the rare alignment of desire and pursuit—these principles advance science and deepen our understanding of purposeful living as scientists.
