There's lots of hardship and suffering that we collectively experience. It's not uncommon for people to share some of it online.
One of the means of supporting people is through prayer. There's a bit of a cynic in me that questions if people actually pray in addition to adding their 🙏 comments. But that's not my point here...
I regularly see people post "prayers headed your way!" and while I understand the sentiment, it's troubling that this semantic error is so common. We don't pray TO each other. We pray FOR each other.
Prayer should be taken seriously. We have access to God through prayer, which is quite amazing if you think about it. The creator of the universe actually listens to you and me, out of 7 billion people on this miniscule earth.
Why say that we're sending prayers to anyone other than to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think?
