It's funny to see people burning through hundreds of dollars on AI every month to try to build the next big thing.
Granted, this is a great way to learn how AI works, especially on the agentic front. Things are moving so quickly these days. Kudos to those who move fast and break things. They're the ones who are pushing the developers to make the tools better.
But business is more than building. What I don't hear much talk about is how people are using it for the boring stuff that makes business happen. In two months I've prospected nearly 4000 B2B leads. 1500 are well qualified.
Converting 3% of them to customers will let me free up time from other work. If for some reason I can't convert 3%, I can easily find more leads in the same vertical.
It's not sexy. It's not going to get clicks on social media. But it solved a problem. I built a service a few years ago and haven't had the capacity to really dive into sales.
Getting AI to do lead generation has been the unlock that I've been stuck on.
Go learn AI.
There's so much that you can do with a $20 subscription to Codex or Claude coupled with open source tools and old hardware that's otherwise collecting dust. AI is changing how work happens, whether you like it or not.
