Marketing: Good vs. Bad

Marketing is everything.

It's the words you speak, the news you read, the clothes you wear, the culture you're part of.

Culture is the result of continual change. Change happens when people take notice.

Marketing is the act of making people take notice!

-

Good Marketers don't coerce. They don't lay traps.

They educate and entertain. They show people they care.

They're storytellers and changemakers 🦸

They're artists, teachers, and entrepreneurs seeking out people who can benefit from what they know.

Bad Marketers can only coerce.

They use more 'hooks' than Captain Cooks 🏴‍☠️ and if you find yourself snared, it's hard to wriggle free.

They've learned how to strong-arm, not to story-tell, and they spend little time thinking about anyone but themselves.

They catch some of us, but...

"You can't fool all the people, not even most of the time. People, once unfooled, talk about the experience.” Seth Godin, This is Marketing.
