And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. (Gen. 2:2)
God can't get tired. He doesn't need rest. Yet he rested anyway.
Why?
Warren Wiersbe asks another good question:
Can you think of reasons other than fatigue that make your day of rest worthwhile?
How about:
- Pattern - as an example to others.
- Pleasure - rest just feels great.
- Perspective - rest can unlock a new point of view.
- Variety - rest can break up the monotony.
These are things we need all the time, not just when we're fatigued.
So we might bake-in rest whether we "need" it or not to truly profit from all of its benefits.
