The Director will represent the clubs on the Executive Board of the San Diego County Democratic Party and help give voice to the grassroots.


I believe the rank and file of the Party are its most important members — not professionals of the political class. We all work hard to get candidates elected, but we can't easily hold them accountable if they pay our salaries.

With public elections to the Central Committee only happening every four years, it's even more important at the biennial terms to refresh voting members of the committee and E-Board with members who are not employed by elected officials.

I recommend a vote for my friend and mentor, Cynara Dawn Kidwell to be the next Director of Clubs.

I've known Cynara for many years. We first met as members of the Point Loma & OB Dems, and discovered we were near neighbors in Ocean Beach. Cynara is a fellow techie and after each election cycle she would often present at the club a detailed analysis of voters in our area. She's a great presenter and public speaker. Cynara also worked with GO-Team, both in OB and also in the South Bay. She later founded the Blue Dream Democratic club, and is a long-time member of several other clubs.

Her years of experience and breadth of political knowledge throughout the county were a great help to me when I served as Director of Clubs — she was always available for a call, and responsive with all her communications. She's earnest, upfront and willing to share — professional, hard-working and tremendously dedicated to Democratic causes.

As many of you know she's bi-lingual in English and Spanish, and as well as mother to Sayen, she is a technical SAP consultant, and somehow also found time to setup a 501(c)3 that tracks and archives Political Propaganda.
