Living in the Lehigh Valley (PA) has its benefits. Formerly a rust-belt part of the country, the area has been transformed into “new urban”. Instead of tearing down the old Steel Stacks from the Bethlehem Steel Company, they remain and have been surrounded by restaurants and shops. This pattern has repeated itself in several towns in the Valley.

I suggest three simple ways to lean into a personal work ethic that is seeped in spiritual meaning:
- Take pride in your space. Do you like your office/kitchen/desk/room? Does it reflect a professional workspace?
- Take pride in your habits. Do you show up early and stay late? Are you consistent?
- Always be prepared. When you have a meeting, have you study the pre-reads? When you meet with someone, have you prayed for them and invited the Lord to show you the way?
Work can be a good thing. Let’s take pride in our labor.
