Today, try a little experiment. When you have to wait for someone or something, close your eyes. Remember the words of St. Teresa of Avila who prayed:

All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.

What does it mean for “patience to obtain all things”? It means that God is in control and when we have to wait for something, we are reminded of our own inabilities. Patience, in this way, becomes a path to deeper intimacy with the Lord.
