Have you ever come across a person who is never satisfied with anything? It’s as if, no matter how hard others try, it’s never good enough.
After a while, you begin to avoid that person.
When it comes to The Quiet Life, the same principle applies. When you come across a negative source of media, best to steer clear.
Recently, the US Bishops met in Baltimore for their Fall meeting. I watched online as a group of protestors railed against the Bishops, insulting them and spewing vitriol and hate. Later in the week, I listened to a podcast which had similar sentiments.
The Bishops aren’t perfect and some have made serious errors. Nonetheless, when I meet with bishops, the vast majority are good men who are striving to lead holy lives. As with all things, when you get to know the person, you see their humanity and the magnitude of their role.
Both Church Militant and the Crisis Point podcast have apparently ignored Christ’s demand to love and to forgive. I guess those core concepts of the Christian faith don’t apply to them.
I suggest ignoring both of these outlets.
They won’t contribute to your peace and they will become like that guy at work that you have no choice but to ignore.
