Can you be on social media and pursue The Quiet Life? I’d like to say yes but these days, I’m reconsidering.
This past week, a police officer saved the life of a woman who was lunging at another woman with a knife. Shortly thereafter, LeBron James tweeted something negative about the police officer. A little while after that, he deleted the tweet and offered an explanation in a subsequent tweet.
So much noise...
Just because we can speak (all the time) through social media doesn’t mean we ought to. Every thought doesn’t need to be published.
The Quiet Life isn’t about being silent. Rather, one seeks to be informed, and to be intentional. Quiet living can make a huge difference in the world but seldom is it done through the use of a megaphone. In this way, it’s not so much about yes or no to Twitter but about getting all the facts and then speaking peacefully in order to help others.
