Letter to myself (01/02/25)

Dear Self,

Howdy from your favourite alien!

A two-week gap once again before we talk. Unusual given I was to write to you weekly but you are not someone who disrupts the natural flow. If it’s once in a week, it’s fine with you. If it’s once in two weeks, that’s fine too. If I don’t write to you ever again, I know you will be fine. So, till these letters last, enjoy reading them. 

A Swiss-based luxury cosmetics brand wants you to create a campaign strategy for their growth in Singapore markets. A pan-India consumer electronics brand wants you to conduct a training for their leaders and management team to strengthen self belief in their brand. A large digital marketing services company wants you to conduct a live lab with their leadership team to decide their “where to plays”. A design-centered EV manufacturer wants to create a positioning strategy that can help them create a compelling national brand. One of the fastest growing online insurance brokers wants you to conduct a study to help them understand how they can differentiate from competitors and enhance their consumer experience. 

One of the largest real money gaming platforms wants to bring you on board to conduct a study for helping them decide future campaign strategy aimed at driving new user enrolments. An on-demand manufacturing startup with co-founders in USA and India sought your advise in shaping their investor outreach strategy. You conducted a live lab with a fast growing Men’s Health startup founder to shape their investment pitch and brand foundation. They will soon be seen showcasing their startup on Shark Tank India.

You led a successful live lab with a professional services group in Mumbai to help them shape the positioning strategy and brand architecture for a new solutions offering. The largest XR or Extended Reality company in India wants you to design a study lab in a leading tech school in Western India. In between, you visited two progressive K-12 schools, one in Punjab and another in Uttar Pradesh and advised them on how they can drive excellence and growth. With the help of your team, you led the New Year townhall to apprise all BODians about what to expect in the near future - projects, trainings, new organization structure, and new launches.

Coming to new launches, February promises to be the month in which your wonderful team will announce many new offerings: a brand new framework for doing “where to play” assignments, the hard cover version of “Building Epic Brands” (must say the dummy copy looks beautiful), the Live Lab website which showcases your pathbreaking framework for solving strategic problems with speed using a hyper collaborative process. You will also launch a report on “CSR In India: Insights & Stories of Impactful Change”. Your team has co-authored this report with a large non-profit association and their foundation. Interesting days I must say with lots of action from an eclectic variety of people, teams and companies. 

The Indian financial year is coming to an end. You were challenged, humbled and grounded many times this year. And we both know it’s not over yet. Who knows if reasons are specific to you or external and it doesn’t really matter. What matters is you still have your head over water, values pretty much intact and high pressure absorbed with grace. I can’t give the credit to you. We can jointly thank your Guru for keeping you alive and kicking.
