We spend a lot of time talking with artist managers about their challenges.
Knowing what moves the needle on ticket sales, streaming, merch, and ancillary revenue is a consistent refrain.
Good to see these big players talking about "measuring fan engagement" and "understanding superfans" in this approach.
Hopefully this is more than talk. We need real solutions to give artists their fair share. Artists took home just 12% of the $43B music industry in 2018 (source in comments). The rest went to corporations, labels, and midpoints. Not much has changed since then.
The industry is becoming more data driven. Change is a matter of "when" not "if".
