"Hello, World!"
It's the first thing you code when learning a new programming language; it's also a fitting way to introduce a new personal blog/newsletter here in the 'HEY World' universe.
HEY World is a new feature that gives every user with an @hey.com email address a blog/newsletter that anyone can subscribe to. All you have to do to post something new is send an email to world@hey.com, and your message is out for the world to see (for better or for worse).
Jason Fried and HEY made an astute observation about the pain points which can stem from starting up a new blog or newsletter. Even as a Software Engineer I've really come to love no-code, low-friction tools to bring my ideas to life without the frustration of having to create a new site for everything.
It makes total sense to be able to post your thoughts in a simple email rather than having to write things in multiple places, updating a site, editing, publishing, blah blah blah.
HEY World is a simple and elegant solution to a barrier that has prevented many from starting and maintaining a forum for expression, and I'm here for it.
And hey (no pun intended), even if only a few people read this it'll be a great way to share my thoughts and remember the process of building our first startup. Maybe someone can learn something valuable from it.
P.S. - If you are reading this, you can also keep up with my latest startup, networking, and NoCode musings by following me on Twitter. Hope to see you there 👋
