The week of learning, making and networking with artists from near and far was a gift that I will always cherish. The week was spent dining in a cafeteria setting with 125+ art quilters and teachers who are the most accomplished and well known in the field of art quilting, surface design and textiles.
After every lunch and dinner meal, one instructor gave a presentation on her/his work (yes, there was a male teacher). The talks were funny, inspirational and endearing. This year, they focused on how they spent their creative time in the studio during Covid.
Since this is a TCB log, I will not dwell on my time there; I will share pictures of the amazing experience had by all.
A particular highlight of the week was Van joining me at the studios walk through and Farewell dinner on the last night. He commented, "There was something interesting to see in every classroom." I think this meant he enjoyed it!
Thanks for letting me share this amazing experience with you.

My piece in process. For those who know my work, you will agree.. Let's just say my teacher pushed me in a different direction. We'll see where it goes. Jane showing us her cropping tool, a useful material to audition designs during the creative process. An amazing student work in the background.

A view from outside our classroom with a full spectrum rainbow hovering for over an hour My classmate who used vodka as spray starch. Hmmmm... Her piece was beautiful. My new friend and sewing buddy Patti from St. Louis, MO. We sewed late into the night together while our hubbies were at the same campground with the dogs. She was a doppelganger of a dear friend from Norfolk. Can anyone tell who?
