Sunday Chillin' #29: A Trip to the Bottega

Hello hello, welcome back to this week's edition of Sunday Chillin'! It's still so warm here in South Bay, global warming is truly hip and happenin' right now.

Last week, I was in SF grabbing lunch with some friends at Bottega, a nice little Italian restaurant in the Mission. I wouldn't necessarily say the food blew me away, but what DID impress me was their music selection. [1] They were playing absolute bangers from Italy and I made sure to Shazam a bunch of them. [2]

There are all sorts of genres here but I've presented the songs below in the order that I Shazamed them. Hope you enjoy!

Terra Prommessa - Espresso Milano

TAXI SULLA LUNA - Tony Effe, Emma, Takagi & Ketra

Mollami, Pt. 2 - Gué [3]

Hoe (feat. Sfera Ebbasta) - Tedua

See you all next Sunday!

Spotify and YouTube playlists with all the songs so far.

[1] To be clear, the food was also good, but not so good that I would travel all the way up to SF to get it. Also their music selection was top tier but their volume choice could have used some work. One thing I really appreciated in Spain and Portugal was that every restaurant played its music at the perfect volume. Just loud enough that it provided ambiance (and I could Shazam it), but not so loud that I had to empty my lung volume to be heard. American establishments should take notes.

[2] Always thankful for friends who wait patiently as I interrupt conversations to pull out my phone and ID a song.

[3] Those of you who are familiar with 1990s reggae may recognize the main chorus of this song as the melody from Here Comes the Hotstepper by Ini Kamoze. Very different vibe but also great.
