Our preferred option for accommodation are AirBnBs. The app is easy to use, costs are presented in CDN $, we enjoy the privacy they and we can choose a place with secure bike parking.
We also enjoy the uniqueness of each place we stay. I’m writing this from a 15th century house in the medieval town of Chauvigny. The suite is above Le Clou, a collective which includes a bookstore, a local products shop, a cafe and meeting space for local groups.
The night before we stayed in a gorgeous 19th century house in the heart of Dange St. Romain.
Breakfast is often provided (usually 8 euros) but we do like locations where we can prepare our own food.
Riding has been amazing the last few days as we follow the Vienne River. Good weather and beautiful countryside sprinkled with small villages. On to Confolens today.
