Bordeaux

Bordeaux was a fantastic city for our rest days. We spent 3 nights here providing ample time to explore.

The city has been an important cultural and commercial centre for two millennia.  Wine  continues to be a key part of its economy, along with aerospace.  The urban development is remarkable. Along with medieval and renaissance buildings, modern architecture is beautifully integrated.

Bordeaux has long been an important stop for pilgrims. Its was inspiring to see shells and images of St James connecting us to the many who have travelled this way before us.

Thank you for reading my posts. I imagined writing in more detail but pecking away on my phone is not my preferred way of writing.
