A vanity number is a phone number with a memorable or customized sequence of digits, often spelling out a word, phrase, or brand name using the alphanumeric keypad (e.g., 1-800-FLOWERS for 1-800-356-9377). It’s designed to be easy to recall and is commonly used by businesses for marketing and branding purposes.
Years ago, I sold a ton of vanity phone numbers. When we were selling NEXTEL phones, we had 877-4NEXTEL ringing into our call center. I actually owned a marketing company USA2001 with the number 800-USA-2001. It was cool: USA (where you live) 2001 (think 'Space Odyssey') and poof - you just memorized our number. I'm pretty sure that 1-800-USA-ARMY will still get you to a recruiting station. Yeah, I just called it - it does.
I am sure that you have used QR codes in the past. I have a QR code for my LinkedIn profile. But you can also just go to TomCapone.com and it will take you to my personal LinkedIn page.
From the "What's Old is NEW AGAIN" department: vanity numbers are back. Big time. Setting up a vanity phone number for calls/texts is a must have if you are in business. Not everyone will have time to 'shoot the code' but they can see and remember a catchy phone number. Fast. You might not have time to shoot the code on the passing bus in NYC, but you can call or text 212-900-0000 anytime. Remember that the next time you need to hire a Super Lawyer in NYC.
For me, I have set up 212-212-CAP1 as my personal number. So, you can go to TomCapone.com or TommyCapone.com or ThomasCapone.com but if you want to 'sit at the cool kids table' you can just call or text 212-212-CAP1 {2271} and you're all set. CAP ONE, CAP1 get it?

How can you spend the time and money to host a booth at a trade show, or host a webinar, or basically do anything in business today, and not make it SUPER EASY for people to connect with you? You need a QR code, you need a website - and - you need a vanity number for texting and calls.
What you really need to do is to JoinNYDLA.org and we'll take care of all of the above. So, go ahead and call/text 212-212-CAP1 and let's get this party started..... we have millions of numbers all across North America. Let's pick one for your school, for your business, for your next marketing campaign.
