AAA most refers to the American Automobile Association, a not-for-profit federation of motor clubs founded in 1902. It serves over 65 million members across North America with services like roadside assistance, travel planning, insurance, and advocacy for road safety. AAA is structured as independent regional clubs (e.g., AAA Northern New England), each operating as a tax-paying mutual benefit corporation without shareholders.

Roadside assistance: Towing, jump-starts, flat tire changes, lockout service, and fuel delivery (coverage varies by membership tier: Classic, Plus, or Premier).

Travel perks: Discounts on hotels, car rentals, cruises, and trip planning tools like TripTik.

Insurance and more: Auto, home, and life insurance through affiliated providers, plus discounts on auto repairs at approved shops.

Membership costs start around $50–$100 annually (depending on region and tier), and it's often compared to insurance add-ons for value. AAA doesn't require you to buy insurance from them to access roadside help.
