Just a quick disclaimer, you’d understand and vibe to these, only and only if you’ve watched the film.
I’ve tried my best to not give out any spoilers.
Let’s go visit the peeks of Thiruchitrambalam….
- The scene where Inspector Neelakandan (Prakash Raj) reacts fully tensed unable to pour out all his anger on his father because he cannot go overboard to an elderly person. Once he realises it was his son who did that, he still doesn’t raise his hand to beat him again, because he’s realised it’s high time not to, after Shobana clearly mentioned.
- The single shot where Jr.Pazham has his eyes filled with tears and realises his father’s pain. He understands how stupid it was to not have spoken out to his father all these years, and walks to the terrace closing the gate while Sr.Pazham is happy because he was in pain when his son called for him, but he didn’t want to wake only because Jr.Pazham would attend to his father, so the ice would break. Couldn’t be more poetic! 🥲😍
- When Shobana actually loves him all these years but still gives a green signal to Jr.Pazham’s ideas to approach the girls he “loves” just to see if something clicks for him, but she knows deep inside that she’s the only match for a depressed and a conservative Jr.Pazham.
- When Sr.Pazham explains how he used to date and approach girls at his younger days, giving out a very classic example of how to handle a beautiful butterfly, don’t disturb the beauty by bringing yourself in its path, instead just enjoy the fly and in no time you’ll have the beautiful fly sit on you so you can catch hold of it gently and give it a peck! This explains just because one belongs to an older gen doesn’t mean they’re conservative on all thoughts and vice versa.
- The sequence where Anusha (Raashi Khanna) clearly explains the difference between showing interest to an interesting person and falling in love are entirely entirely entirely different. If still some would go mentioning that “girls are always like that” all that you need is some brain and it’s highhhhh time you realise this!
- Adding to the previous, when Sr.Pazham clearly hits the bullseye by mentioning: “We don’t realise something that’s near us or just in front of us, all that we do is we con ourselves by thinking just because someone is pretty they are a love material, while love is to understand each other’s likes and dislikes, happiness and sadness and mention to them freely”
- The last high would be, the climax voice over of Sr.Pazham in his classic Bharathiraja tone - “This is a story of a girl marrying a boy who’s just upstairs. All the drama for this!”Couldn’t be more clearer, that love doesn’t fit into the worldly yardsticks of beauty, colour, caste, creed, gender, age, etc. : it’s simple yet deep, it’s love.
All I’d like to say is that this movie is a vibe.. and if you’re able to relate yourself with Jr.Pazham there’s nothing to be happy or proud about it. He was just a depressed fellow who was lucky enough to have the best gem of people around him to pep him up. Everyone’s got problems, be open, be vocal, open yourself to freely move with individuals not losing yourself into emotions.
Oh! I don’t wanna end this as some lecture but just a … good tip, maybe!
Enjoy makkaley!
