Mark 'em All - 01 Sep 2024 - Answers

Hi there,

Had started this new series on LinkedIn, with the title 'Mark 'em All'. It's a straightforward crossword puzzle containing list of words hiding there in boxes readyto be found out.

Clue 01: List various options on clicking this,
Answer: From up to down right diagonally available, the answer is 'DROPDOWN' : The UI element that expands to display a list of options when clicked, allowing the user to select one.

For Example: A dropdown menu used to select a country from a list.

Clue 02: Know something without navigating,
Answer: From up to down right diagonally, the answer is 'TOOLTIP' : A small pop-up that provides additional information when a user hovers over or focuses on a UI element.

For Example: In Google Sheets, when you hover over the "Functions" (fx) button, a tooltip appears saying “Insert function”, explaining that the button is for adding formulas.
Clue 03: Use this to move between pages,
Answer: From up to down right diagonally, the answer is 'NAVBAR' : A bar or menu that contains links to different sections or pages of a website or application.

For example: The top navigation bar on a website with links like "Home," "About," and "Contact."

Clue 04: You decide and then act on this,
Answer: From up to down, the answer is 'CTA: Call-To-Action' encourages users to take a specific action, such as clicking a button, signing up, or purchasing.

For example: Website buttons such as "Add to Cart," "Buy Now," for conversions.

Clue 05: Use this to adjust the volume,
Answer: From bottom left to up right diagonally, the answer is 'SLIDER': that lets users choose a value from a continuous or discrete range by dragging a handle.

For example: Slides to adjust volume or display brightness.
Clue 06: Neatly segregate & display records,
Answer: From up to down right diagonally available, the answer is 'TABLE': that displays data in rows and columns, helping users quickly process and compare large amounts of information visually

For example: Data table in a dashboard showing sales figures, dates, and regions.
