Any ‘good’ product or service is meant to be / or just considered to be “simple” with minimal things to look at or use!
When things start off, everything’s reachable, easy, simple and that’s all what we want, at first.
We don’t want any additions and we may think that life’s all easy peezy to handle.
But, as the famous Tamil movie dialogue goes:
When things start off, everything’s reachable, easy, simple and that’s all what we want, at first.
We don’t want any additions and we may think that life’s all easy peezy to handle.
But, as the famous Tamil movie dialogue goes:
“Naama vaazhalaam anaa valara mudiyaadhu”
which means:
“We can survive, but not grow”
Simplicity is satisfying, but have we given too much attention to it compromising on welcoming more usefulness?
Let's just discuss on products & services!
Complications are inevitable!
Certain complications are the actual reasons why the human race advances further,
Complications could become evolution personified,
Complications may become tomorrow’s default features.
Uh!! I …
It…
It looks like I’ve been bribed by “Team Complications”
well, just wanted to hype up this write up with jargons 🫣😄
I’ve been planning for years and finally, purchased this smartwatch model SE, recently!
As an apple fan boy, my ears have had enough about the over pricy-ness of the fruit products from the Fandroids!
The same thing happened when I was asked what’s the price of the watch. Well I’m no heir to any royal family either, but what’s wrong in paying for a product that’s value for the money and an actual motivator!?
At the end of the day, a watch is a watch staying true to showing ‘what’s the time’,
but there’s more to it, they’ve become wearables… an extension of ourselves.. the modern age mobile phones, but more intimate and close to us..
Well, the best part is, apart from the time, they actually named the other accessible features as “complications”, maybe that’s when I realised complications aren’t always bad.
There’s heart rate monitor, fall detection, activity monitor,
sleep tracker, stop watch, alarm,
timer, fitness motivator,
handoff connection with all related products, personal assistant,
answering calls, calendar,
responding to messages, …. *breathe in* *breathe out* meditation tracker etc. and it also tells time!
Well,
Maybe not all complications are actually just a flash in the pan, nice-to-have eye candy stuff, that fades out in the near future,
but they create a path, a usable path, a much needed path.
So,
what’s the harm in welcoming the complications, that’s accessible and productive!?
What say?
Until next time,

This write up could be converted into a series, where I’d be writing on products/services (that I’ve come across) where complications were brought in for better usability. I’d love to hear from y’all!
